Dr Shakil Kamal



Shakil graduated from Kings College London in 1998. For the first 8 years after dental school, Shakil worked in hospitals in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. He held the position of Specialist Doctor for 4 years in various London hospitals where he completed his Royal College of Surgeons examination and became a Fellow of the Royal College. Shakil has written and published two scientific journal papers; one in the British Dental Journal. He has presented in multiple hospital regional audits.

In 2007, Shakil decided to step out of the hospital environment and bought his own practice in Aberdeen, which he ran for a decade. Shakil obtained an MSc in Restorative Dentistry and Aesthetic Dentistry from the University of Manchester and in 2018 obtained a Masters in Clinical Dentistry in the field of implant dentistry.

Shakil has had vast experience in oral surgery (wisdom tooth removal, complex dental surgery procedures), complex restorative dentistry as well
as implant dentistry.

Shakil’s ethos is ‘if a tooth has a possibility of being restored, try very hard to restore it’ as there is nothing better than your natural teeth, seeing himself as a scientist first. All treatment cases are methodically planned, in partnership with the patient, with good long-term results being the ultimate goal.

Shakil is an avid ‘Gardener’s World Fan’ enjoying horticulture. He is also a
keen swimmer and cyclist.
